Electronic Card Shufflers and Electronic Card Shoes
Electronic card shufflers and electronic card shoes deployed in casinos
in Singapore must be secure, reliable and auditable, so as to ensure
honest gaming. The Singapore Technical Standards for Electronic Card
Shufflers and Electronic Card Shoes describes
key technical standards that serve to achieve this.
The Singapore Technical Standards for Electronic Shufflers Version 1.0
and Version 1.1 were released on 16 September 2009 and 23 June 2010
respectively, while the Singapore Notice on Card Shoes (which applies to
both electronic card shoes and
non-electronic card shoes*) was issued on 14 October 2009. Taking into
consideration the product trend towards hybrid electronic card shoes and
shufflers, the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Singapore (the
“Authority") has updated and amalgamated
the existing technical standards for electronic card shufflers and
electronic card shoes intended for use in the Singapore casinos into one
set of technical standards. The Singapore Technical Standards for
Electronic Card Shufflers and Electronic Card
Shoes Version 2.0 and Version 3.0 were released on 1 February 2013 and
24 April 2015 respectively. The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Singapore
(the “Authority”) has published a revised version of the Singapore
Technical Standards For Electronic
Card Shufflers and Electronic Card Shoes, Version 3.1, on 2 March 2017
(the “Publication Date”). All industry players must comply with the
Singapore Technical Standards for Electronic Card Shufflers and
Electronic Card Shoes Version
3.1 with effect from 3 March 2017 (the “Effective Date”).
The Singapore Technical Standards for Electronic Card Shufflers and
Electronic Card Shoes is a collective result of active participation of
industry stakeholders via the Authority’s industry consultation process.
Valuable input has been
provided by our various regulatory counterparts. We thank all our
regulatory counterparts and industry stakeholders for their valuable
input and feedback.
*Please continue to refer to the Notice on Non-Electronic Card Shoes for the requirements relating to non-electronic card shoes.
